Kozhukattai കൊഴക്കട്ട

Kozhukattai
Kozhakkattai is one of the popular snacks from kerala.

Ingredients
a.     for the filling.
         1.  Scraped Coconut -1 cup.
         2.  Jaggery – 1 cup.
         3.Cardamom seeds – 2-3 nos.
b. for the outer dough
           1. Rice flour – 1 cup.
           2. Salt a pinch.
           3. Water.
           4. Oil – 1 tsp.
Method Of  Preperation:
1.Soak jaggery in 1/2cup hot water, allo it to boil, andfilter the impurities.
2.Heat it until it becomes a thick syrup,Then add coconut, cardamom powder.Allow the water to evaporate. 
3.In a bowl mix flour and salt together.
4.Pour warm water into the rice powder and knead well to make smooth dough, without lumps.
5.Make big lemon sized balls by using this dough.
6.Spread a little oil on your palm.
7. Take a ball of dough and start pressing the sides and spread the dough to make cup shaped molds.
7.Put a spoonful of the mixture in this and secure all the sides and roll lightly.
8.Prepare all balls using the rest of the dough.
9.Steam the kozhukkattas for 10- 15 mins.
10. Now our tasty kozhukkattai is ready to serve. Serve hot. Enjoy!!!!
