Here I am sharing one of awesome Kerala recipe by using beef - Beef

Ingredients
- Beef – ½ kg
- Onion – 3 nos large.
- Tomato – 1 cup.
- Curry leaves.
- Ginger – 2 Tbspn.
- Garlic – 2 Tbspn.
- Green chillies – 4-5 nos.
- Fenugreek seeds – ½ tsp.
- Coconut Oil – 4 Tbspn.
- Salt.
- Black Pepper powder – 1 ½ tsp.
- Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp.
- Red chilly powder – 2 tbsp.
- Coriander Powder – 2 tbspn.
- Garam Masala powder – 1 Tsp.
Beef Masala / Beef curry Kerala Style
Method of Preparation:
- Cut beef in to small pieces, and clean it.
- Take this beef in to a pressure cooker or earthen pan. To this add 1 tbspn. of coriander powder, ½ tsp. of turmeric powder, 1 tbspn. of red chillly powder, 1 tsp. of pepper powder, 1 cup water and salt. Mix well, Keep this for minimum 45 mins. to 1 ½ hrs. , and let it cook.
- Heat 3 tbspn. of coconut oil a wide pan. Add fenugreek seeds, onion, ginger , green chillies, garlic, curry leaves and some salt. Fry until onion become transparent. Then add tomato, and let it mash.
- Add 1 tbspn. of coriander powder, ½ tsp. of turmeric powder, 1 tbspn. of red chillly powder, ½ tsp. of pepper powder and 1 tsp. of garam masala powder. Saute well.
- Transfer cooked beef to this mixture. Mix well, add some water if needed. Let it boil.
- Drizzle some coconut oil and sprinkle some curry leaves. Mix well and remove from fire.
- Now our tasty beef masala / curry is ready to serve. Garnish with curry leaves.
- Serve with ghee rice, nice pathiri, chappathi etc. Enjoy!!!!

ReplyDeleteI just cooked this recipe, I put less than half the chili powder and it's still incredibly hot. delicious, nonetheless.
Just out of curiosity, the broth where the beef cooks is too tasty to throw away, I used it instead of water, maybe that amounts to too much spices...
