Meat Box or Irachi Petti ( envelope) is a
Malabar snack famous during Ifthar parties. It is an easy and super delicious
snack. Let’s see how we can prepare it…….

Ingredients :
a.
For masala:
1.
Chicken- 1cup, cooked and chopped
2.
Onion – 1 chopped.
3.
Ginger paste – 1 tsp.
4.
Garlic paste – 1 tsp.
5.
Green chilles – 2-3 nos.
6.
Tomato – ½ piece.
7.
Garam masala – ½ tsp.
8.
Pepper powder – ½ tsp.
9.
Chilly powder – 1 tsp.
10.
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp.
11.
Coriander powder – 1 tsp.
12.
Coriander leaves.
13.
Curry leaves.
14.
Oil.
b.
Other Ingredients:
1. All Purpose Flour - 1/2 cup.
2. Egg – 1.
3. Coriander leaves.
4. Water - enough to make batter.
5. Salt.
6. Oil.
Method of Preparation:
1.Cook chicken with salt and turmeric
powder. Peel it and keep it aside.
2. Heat
oil in a pan, add ginger, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves and onions. Stir
for some time.
3.When
the onions become transparent add tomato. Allow the tomato become mash.
4.To this add
Garam masala, pepper powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder and coriander
powder. Fry it for 1 min.
5.Transfer
cooked chicken to it. Sauté well. Sprinkle some coriander leaves.
6.Now
our masala is ready.
7.For making batter, take all purpose flour and salt in a vessel. Add enough amount of water and make a a medium consistency. (Thin consistency is better.)
8.By using this batter, make medium diameter dosa.
9. Place the dosa in a plate, put a
2 tbsp of the filling in the center of dosa, fold it like a box / envelope shape.
11.Like this prepare all the boxes.
12.Take one egg in a bowl, to this add one egg, some salt and
coriander leaves. Beat well and keep it aside.
13.Heat the oil in a pan for shallow
frying.
14.Dip each prepared box in the egg
mixture and shallow fry in medium flame. Flip when one side turns golden-brown.
15.Now our yummy irachi petti / meet
box is ready to serve.
