Sambar Powder Recipe
       Generally, we buy and store Sambar Powder from shops. Why don’t we try to make our own sambar powder from our kitchen?. Here is a simple recipe, how to make sambar powder in our home!!!.  Let's see how we can prepare it...............

Preparation time: 3 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

1.       Coriander seeds- 1/2 cup.
2.       Large split yellow lentils/ chana daal - 1/4 cup.
3.       Black gram / urad daal -1/4 cup.
4.       Fenugreek seeds -  2 tsp.
5.       Cumin seeds- 2 tsp.
6.       Black peppercorns – 2 tsp.
7.       Mustard seeds – 2 tsp.
8.       Dry red chilli flakes – ¼ cup.
9.       Curry leaves – ¼ cup.
10.    Asafetida powder – 2 tsp.
Method of preparation: 
1.Roast  Coriander seeds, large split yellow lentil (chana daal), black gram  (urad daal), fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, black peppercorns, mustard seeds, dry red chilli flakes and curry leaves on a hot griddle till they begin to release their aroma.
2.Cool on a tray, and grind into a fine powder.
3.Add the asafetida and mix well. Store in an air-tight container.
