Chakkakkuru parippu curry / Jackfruit seed Dal curry is a simple and tasty dish. In this Jackfruit seeds pieces are cooked in a mildly
spiced dal, onion, tomato and coconut gravy. It goes well with rice, etc. Let’s

- Jackfruit seeds – 1 cup, peeled and halved
- Toor dal – ½ cup.
- Onion – 1 no.
- Tomato – 1 no.
- Green chillies – 3-4 nos.
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp.
- Red Chilly powder – 1 tsp.
- Salt.
- To make paste:
Garlic
cloves – 3-3 nos.
Cumin
seeds – ½ tsp.
Shallots –
2-3 nos.
Curry
leaves.
Green
chillies – 2-3 nos.
10. To make
tempering:
Dry red chillies – 3-4 nos.
Mustard seeds – ½ tsp.
Curry leaves
Oil
Method of Preparation:
- Soak toor dal in water for 30 minutes, and cook it in a pressure cooker. And keep it aside.
- In an earthen pan add onion, green chillies, chopped tomatoes, peeled jackfruit seeds, turmeric powder, red chillies and salt.
- Add enough amount of water and mix well. Close the lid and cook it well.
- Grind grated coconut, green chillies, shallots, garlic, curry leaves and cumin seeds to a smooth paste.
- Add cooked dal to the vegetable mixture, when vegetables are cooked well. Mix well and allow it to boil.
- Then add ground coconut paste ,mix well and cook for 5 minutes stirring in between. Adjust salt.
- Now our Jackfruit seeds dal curry is cooked well. Switch off the flame.
- Make tempering to our curry, for this heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, red chilly and curry leaves.
- Pour this tempering to our curry and mix well.
- Now our jack fruit seed dal curry is ready to serve. Serve with plain rice.
- Serve hot... Enjoy!!!...
