Ingredients:
1. For Batter:
- Biriyani rice -1cup
- Ponni rice / white rice-1/2 cup
- Thick coconut milk -3cup
- Egg-1.
- Salt

Filling:
- Beef – ½ Kg.
- Onion – 3 nos large.
- Ginger – 2” piece.
- Garlic – 4-5 nos.
- Green chillies – 4-5 nos.
- Shallots – 8-10 nos.
- Tomato – 1 cup.
- Curry leaves.
- Oil.
- Salt.
- Ghee.
- Garam Masala – 1 tsp.
- Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp.
- Red chilly powder – 2 tbsp.
- Coriander Powder – 2 tbspn.
- Pepper powder – 1 tsp.

Method of Preparation:
1. Making batter:
- Soak basmathi rice and ponni rice / white rice in water for 5-6 hrs.
- Grind the rice with enough coconut milk and egg. Make a fine smooth paste. Pour it to a bowl and add remaining coconut milk and salt, mix well and make a thin batter
2. For making filling:
- Cook beef by adding turmeric powder ( ½ tsp.), chilly powder (1 tsp.), coriander powder ( 1 ½ tbspn. ) and salt.
- Heat 2 tbsp oil in a wide pan at medium heat. Add ginger, garlic, curry leaves, green chillies, onion and some salt. Saute it well until the onion becomes transparent.
- Then add tomato and let it mash.
- When tomatoes are mashed up, add turmeric powder, chilly powder, pepper powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder. Sauté a while.
- Transfer the cooked beef to the pan, mix well with masala, and allow it to boil.
- Add some more salt if needed.

3. To assemble beef Kinnapathiri:
- Get ready with steamer.
- Place a flat bottom vessel in the steamer and grease it with ghee.
- Pour a big ladle full of batter. Cover the lid for few minutes to cook.
- Now open the lid drizzle 1 tsp. of ghee. Pour another ladle of batter, cover and allow to set.
- Then Open the lid, spread beef masala and pour ladle full of batter,cover and allow to set
- Repeat the same with remaining batter, on top spread remaining masala and pour one ladle full batter. Repeat this process until beef masala and batter finish.
- Cover and steam for another 20 - 30 min.
- Now our beef kinnapathiri is ready. Allow it to cool. Demold it and cut it to desired shape.
- Serve hot. Enjoy. !!!!
