Ingredients 
  • Milk – 2 Liters.
  • Sugar – ½ - 1 cup.
  • Rice / Payasam rice / unakkalari / Chemba Pachari  -   3 handful.
  • Ghee- 2 Tbspn.
  • Water – 4 liters.
  • Cashew nuts -15 nos. ( optional)
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tsp.( optional)

Method of preparation:
  1. Wash and dry the rice thoroughly.
  2. Take a wide saute pan (Preferably uruly).
  3. Add ghee and 4 liters of water. Pour milk when water starts boiling.
  4. Allow to evaporate water and make it to become half portion (3 liters).
  5. Then transfer washed rice to it. Reduce flame and allow it to cook.
  6. Add sugar when the rice cooked well and color of Payasam becomes light brown color. Allow it to boil for few mins. Then switch of the flame.
  7. Now our paal payasam is ready to serve. Stir it for some more time.
  8. If you want add cardomom powder and roasted cashew nuts, this step is optional.  Mix well.
  9. Now our tasty paal payasam is ready to serve. Serve hot. Enjoy!!!!
