Coconut
chutney is one of the most side dishes of south india. It is a great
compination with Idali, dosa or vada.

Prepration

Ingredients
1. Coconut grated -1 cup.
2. Green chillies – 2 small chopped.
3. Ginger – 1 tsp grated.
4. Roasted Chana dal – 2 tsp.
5. Salt to taste.
For the seasoning
1. Mustard seeds -1 tsp
2. Red Chilli - 1
3. Curry leaves – few
4. oil- 1 table spoon.
Method of prepration
1. Put the coconut, green chillies,
ginger, roasted split gram and salt in a blender with a little water and grind
to make a fine paste. Keep aside.
2. Prepare the tempering by heating the
oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, red chilli and curry leaves and stirring till
the mustard seeds crackle. Pour this tempering over the chutney and mix well.
3. Serve South Indian coconut chutney
with dosa, idli, adai, vada, uthappam, pakoda, etc.
I like it. Perfect south Indian chutney.
