Kozhi Pidi Malabar Dish കോഴി പിടി

Kozhi Pidi Malabar Dish
    Wide verities of pidis are in Kerala. Here i am presenting one of the authenticated Malabar dish called Kozhi Pidi. This dish chicken, pidi and poori are served together. Let's see how to prepare it.........

Ingredients 
For pidi/ dumplings 
1.Rice flour - 1 cup
2. Water - 1 - 1 1/2 cup 
For Poori
1.     Maida – 1 cup.
2.     Water.
3.     Salt.
4.     Oil or deep fry. 
For chicken masala
1.     Boneless chicken - 500 gm
2.     Onion - 2( finely chopped)
3.     Tomato - 1 small( finely chopped )
4.     Ginger – 1 tsp.
5.     Garlic  - 1 1/2 tsp
6.     Green chillies - 1 or 2
7.     Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
8.     Red chilly powder – 2 tsp
9.     Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
10.   Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
11.   Coriander powder - 3 tsp
12.   Curry leaves
13.   Coriander leaves
14.    Salt 
15.    Oil 
For coconut gravy 
1.     Coconut – 1 cup.
2.     Fennel seeds – 1 tsp. 
Method of Preparation:
a.Making Pidi:
1. Boil water in a pan .( for 1 cup of flour, take 1 cup water). Add salt.
2. Add rice flour, stir well. And cook in a low flame for 5 minutes.
3.Knead it well, and  make a smooth dough.
4.Take a small ball of the dough( 1 tsp ) and roll it into a ball and gently press it down and make an impression in the middle with the thumb.
5.Steam it for 10 minutes.
b.Making Poori:
1. Take maida in a basine, add salt and mix it well.
2. Pour water and make a dough.
3.Prepare small poori.
4. Deep fry it and keep aside.
c.Making of chicken masala:
1. Grind coconut and fennal seeds and keep aside.
2. Take water a large pan, when it boils add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, and coriander powder. Allow it to boil.
3. Add Onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves and fennel seeds. Allow it to boil.
4. Add chicken and salt. Cook it for 15-20 mins.
5. Add coconut paste to it and allow to boil.
d. Last stage/ Mixing:
1.Get ready with poori, chicken masala and pidi.
2.Add pidi to boiling chicken masala, Allow it to boil again for 2-5 minutes.
3.Finally mix the gravy and prepared poori together and keep over low flame for 4 to 5 minutes till it has combined well.
4.Now our kozhi pidi is ready to serve.
5.Serving is an art, for serving kozhi pidi we have to serve chicken pieces, pidi, and poori together.
