Kunchi pathiri/ Kunchi Pathal
          Kunchi Pathri is one of the super delicious Malabar dish. It is a combination of chiken / mutton and rice dumpling. Let's see how to make this.......

Ingredients

For pidi/ dumplings 
1.Rice flour - 1 cup
2. Water - 1 - 1 1/2 cup 
For chicken masala
1. Boneless chicken - 500 gm
2. Onion - 2( finely chopped)
3. Tomato - 1 small( finely chopped )
4. Ginger – 1 tsp.
5. Garlic  - 1 1/2 tsp
6. Green chillies - 1 or 2
7. Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
8. Red chilly powder – 2 tsp
9. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
10. Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
11. Coriander powder - 3 tsp
12. Curry leaves
13. Coriander leaves
14. Salt 
15. Oil 
For coconut gravy
1. Coconut – 1 cup.
2. Fennel seeds – 1 tsp. 
Method of Preparation:
1.     Making Pathiri:
1. Boil water in a pan .( for 1 cup of flour, take 1 cup water). Add salt.
2Add rice flour, stir well. And cook in a low flame for 5 minutes.
3Knead it well, and  make a smooth dough.
4.Take a small ball of the dough( 1 tsp ) and roll it into a ball and gently press it down and make an impression in the middle with the thumb.                                                   
5Steam it for 10 minutes.
2.Making of chicken masala:
1. Grind coconut and fennal seeds and keep aside.
2. Take water a large pan, when it boils add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, and coriander powder. Allow it to boil.
3. Add Onion, tomato, ginger, garlic, green chillies, curry leaves and fennel seeds. Allow it to boil.
4. Add chicken and salt. Cook it for 15-20 mins.
5. Add coconut paste to it and allow to boil.
6. Add  pathiri to boiling chicken masala, Allow it to boil again for 4 to 5 minutes till it has combined well.
7. Now our kunchi pathiri is ready to serve.
