Malabar fish curry

Malabar fish curry
Malabar fish curry is one of the famous fish recipe in kerala. Let's see how we can prepare it...........

Ingredients: 

1.       Fish(Any fleshy fish) - 250g(cut into even sized pieces)
2.       Onion - 2no(sliced).
3.       Ginger - A small piece(chopped)
4.       Garlic - 3 flakes(crushed)
5.       Fenugreek seeds- ½ cup.
6.       Green chilies – 3-5 nos.
7.       Chillypowder – 1 tsp.
8.       Corianderpowder – ½ tsp.
9.       Turmericpowder – ¼ tsp.
10.     Black pepper powder – ½ tsp.
11.     Curry leaves.
12.     Coconut milk – 1cup.
13.     Salt.
14.     Water.

Method of preparation:

1.Take shallots, coriander powder,chilly powder and turmeric powder in a blender. Add some water and make a smooth paste.

2.Heat oil in an earthern pan.

3.Add fenugreek seed, curry leaves and onions, stir well until the onion becomes transparent.

4.Add green chillies, ginger, garlic and tomatos. Stire for 5 mins.

5.To this add shallots, coriander powder, chilly powder and  turmeric powder mixture and mix it properly. Allow it to boil.

6.After a few minutes, add  fish tamerind (kudampuli) along with water.

7.When the mixture is boiling really hot, leave it for two mintues and then add fish one by one.

8.When it boil, add salt and pepper powder.

9. Add the coconut milk and stir it properly.

10.Reduce the flame and cook on low flame.

11. Let it remain till the fish is completely cooked.

12. At last add 1 tsp. of coconut milk and some curry leaves.  Switch of the flame and close the lid.

13. Now our Malabar fish curry is ready to serve.
