Thari Kanji / Nombu Kanji Ramzhan special malabar dish |
This is a ramzan special drink from Kerala.
It is a porridge prepared by using semolina, vermicelli, milk, sugar, nuts etc.

Ingredients:
1.
Semolina / rava – ¼ cup.
2.
Vermicelli – ¼ cup.
3.
Sugar – 3-5 tbspn.
4.
Milk – 1cup.
5.
Coconut milk – ½ milk.
6.
Water – 1 cup.
7.
Ghee – 2 tsp.
8.
Raisins – ½ table spoon.
9.
Cashew nuts- ½ table spoon.
10. Cardamon powder – 1 pinch.
11. Salt – 1 pinch.
12. Shallots – 3-5 nos.
Methods of preparation:
1. Heat ghee
in a pan.
2. Add
shallots and fry well.
3. Add cashew
nuts and Raisins. Then add vermicelli and fry well.
4.Add 2 cups of water and allow to
cook. When the vermicelli’s are cooked well, transfer semolina to it. Allow it
to cook for 5 mins
5. Transfer 1 cup of milk to it and
boil it.
6. Add enough amount of sugar and mix
well.
7. Add coconut milk, suet well, switch
of the flame and add one pinch of salt and cardamom powder.
8. Now our awesome thari kanji is ready to serve. Serve hot, Enjoy!!!!
