Carrot Halwa / Gajar Halwa
         Gajar Halwa / Carrot Halwa is a traditional Punjabi dessert made with carrots and milk. Carrot Halwa is delicious in warm or cold. Let’s see how we can prepare it…..

Ingredients:
  1. Shredded carrots - 2 cups.
  2. Milk - 2 cups .
  3. Unsalted butter / Ghee - 3 tablespoons.
  4. Sugar - 1/2cup.
  5. Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Cashew nuts and raisins (To garnish)
Method of Preparation:
  1. Heat ghee in a pan, roast the cashew nuts and raisins remove cashew nuts for garnishing.
  2.  Transfer the shredded carrots to the remaining cashew nuts and raisins and stir-fry for about seven to eight minutes.
  3. Carrots should be tender and slightly changed in color.
  4. Add the milk and allow it to boil. Then add some cardamom powder.
  5. Cook until the milk dries. This will take about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Next add the sugar, and stir-fry for another three to four minutes until the halwa starts to leave the side of frying pan.
  7. Garnish with cashew nuts.
  8. Enjoy!!!!
Tips:
  1. Gajar Halwa can be refrigerated for up to one week and kept in the freezer for up to two months.
