Ingredients: 

  • Wheat – 1 cup.
  • Chicken pieces – 400 gms.
  • Onion – 1 medium size.
  • Garlic- 4-5 nos.
  • Salt.
  • Whole spices :
         Cinnamon  - 1” 2 pieces.
         Cloves – 6-8 nos.
         Cardamom – 4-5 nos.
  • For garnishing:
          Butter / Ghee – 2 Tbspn.
          Onion – 1 sliced. 
          Cashew nuts – 10 nos.
          Raisins – 10 nos.

Method of Preparation:
  1. Soak wheat in water for 6-8 hours.
  2. Take a deep pan or pressure cooker, add wheat, chicken, whole spices, onion, garlic, salt and boiling water. Water should cover wheat and chicken. Add water in between if needed.
  3. Cook on a low flame for 1- 1 ½ hours or till it done.
  4. The wheat and chicken must be cooked very well.
  5. Remove bones and large pieces of spices after chicken and wheat are cooked well. Mash this mixture by using hand blender or food processor.

  6. The prepare garnishing items. 
    Heat ghee / butter in a pan. Fry onion, cashews and raisins. Pour it over the alsa before serving.
  7. Serve hot. Enjoy!!!!
