Ingredients:
  • Dates – 250 gms.
  • Ginger – 1 tbspn.
  • Garlic – 1 Tbspn.
  • Green chillies – 1 Tbspn.
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp.
  • Chilli powder – 1 Tbspn.
  • Vinegar – 2 tbspn.
  • Mustard seed – ½ tsp.
  • Sugar – 2 - 3 Tbspn.
  • Salt.
  • Oil.
  • Curry leaves.

Method of Preparation:
  1. Clean, deseed and slice the dates.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, when it splutter add curry leaves, chopped garlic, ginger and green chillies. Saute well.
  3. Add turmeric powder and chilly powder, mix well.

  4. Add deseed and sliced dates to this and mix well with masala.
  5. Pour ¼ cup of water and cook it. Allow to mash the dates.
  6. Add sugar and salt. Mix well.
  7. Pour vinegar to this dates mixture. Mix well allow it to boil and switch of the flame.
  8. Now our tasty dates pickle is ready to serve, serve with Malabar biriyani, ghee rice etc. Enjoy!!!!
