Ingredients:-
- Moong Dal – 1 cup.
- Coconut Oil – 1 tbspn.
- Curry leaves.
- Whole Red chillies – 1 no.
- Salt.
- Green Chillies – 1no.
For making coconut paste:
- Grated Coconut -1/2 cup.
- Cumin – ½ tsp.

Method of
Preparation:
- Heat a pan, roast moong dal for 5 min. in a low - medium flame (Just heat the dal). Pour some water and wash it well.
- Take a earthen pan / regular pan. Transfer washed dal to this, pour boiling water and allow it to boil.
- Meantime prepare coconut mixture. For this, gind coconut mixture with cumin seed and some water. Make it to a smooth paste and keep it aside.
- Add green chilly, whole red chilly, curry leaves and some coconut oil, when dal starts boiling. Mix well and cook it. You can use pressure cooker also.
- Mash it well by adding more water if necessary.
- Add grounded coconut mixture to the mashed dal. Add enough amount of salt and simmer for few minutes.
- Stir continously. Allow it to thick.
- Now our tasty katti parippu is ready to serve. Serve hot along with ghee. Enjoy!!!
