Ingredients
- Tomato - 2 Nos. Medium size.
- Garlic – 4-5 large cloves.
- Crushed black pepper – 1 ½ tsp.
- Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp.
- Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp.
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp.
- Cumin seed – ¼ tsp.
- Fenugreek – ¼ tsp.
- Asafoetida powder - -2 pinch.
- Tamarind – 1 lemon sized ball.
- Chopped coriander leaves – 1/2 cup.
- Salt.
- Water- 2 Liters
- Coconut oil – 1 Tbspn.
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp.
- Dry red chillies – 2-3 nos.
- Curry leaves.

Method of Preparation:
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When it splutters, add dry red chillies and curry leaves, followed by crushed garlic and stir well.
- Then add crushed black pepper, cumin seeds, red chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder, fry for less than a minute.
- Then add tomatoes, again saute well. Transfer tamarind juice, half portion of coriander leaves, 2 cups of water and salt.
- Mix well and close the lid. Cook for 10-15 minutes in medium flame or till the tomatoes are fully cooked.
- Finally add fenugreek seed( roasted), pinch of asafoetida and remaining chopped coriander leaves and curry leaves. Cook it 2 more mins. and switch of the flame.
- Now our tasty rasam is ready to serve. Serve hot with rice. Enjoy!!!.
