Ingredients
- Roasted Semiya/Vermicelli - 1cup
- Warm milk - 2 1/2 cups
- Ghee - 2 tbsp
- Sugar – ½ - 1 cup.
- Cashewnuts – 10 nos.
- Raisins – 10 – 15 nos.
- Milkmaid - 1/2 cup.
- Cardomom powder – ½ tsp.
- Saffron strands - a pinch, ( optional)

Method of
Preparation:
- Cut vermicelli in to small pieces ( 1.5 inch long).
- Boil milk.
- In a deep pan add ghee and roast the cashew nuts and raisins till golden brown.Remove and keep aside.
- In the same pan,roast (heat) the vermicelli till it slightly changes in color.
- Transfer half portion of boiling milk to the vermicelli. Mix well, close the lid and allow it to cook.
- Stir in between. Cover
and cook for 7-10 minutes or till the semiya is cooked.
Semiya Payasam /Vermicelli Kheer Onam Sadhya - Add sugar and mix well. Pour remaining milk to it. Now our mixture become loose due to the effect of sugar.
- Pour remaining warm milk to it. Mix well and allow it to boil, Switch off the flame.
- The transfer ½ cup of milkmaid and stir well.
- Add cardamom powder, saffron strands ( optional), roasted cashew nuts and raisins. Keep stirring.
- Our tasty semiya payasam is ready to serve.
- Serve hot. Enjoy!!!!.

ReplyDeleteI like to have the kheer very much, it is one of the most favorite dish which is being prepared in the days of the festival. Kerala is one of the most suitable place which is being utilized by the newly married couples to spend out their honeymoon in the most romantic way as much as possible.
