Erachi Choru / Irachi Choru

For masala
Beef / Mutton  – 750 gms – 1 Kg.
Onion -  3 cups.
Garlic paste - 2 tbspn.
Ginger paste -  2 tbspn.
Tomato – 1 cup.
Green chillies – 4 -5 nos.
Curd / Youghourt – ½ cup.
Coriander leaf.
Mint leaf.
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp.
Coconut oil – ½ cup.
Pineapple – ¼ cup.
Salt.
Water.
To prepare the Rice
Parboiled rice  -  500g ( 2 cup).
Water - 5  cups.
Ginger – 1 tsp.
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp.
Pinapple pieces – ¼ cup.
Coriander leaves.
Coconut oil – ¼ cup.
Salt.
Garam Masala  Powder- ½  Tbspn.
Whole spices like- 
    Cinnamon Pieces  - 2-3 pieces
    Cardamom  - 3- 4 nos.
    Cloves - 4  nos.
    Star Anise – 1 no.
    Fennel seeds – 1 tsp.

Method of Preparation
 a.     Prepration of beef / mutton masala.
  1. Wash and clean the  beef / mutton pieces.
  2. Mix together onion chopped, ginger paste, garlic paste,  chopped green chilles, coriander leaves, mint leaves, tomato chopped, curd / yoghourt, turmeric powder, salt, pineapple pieces and beef / mutton. Mix it well by using your hand. Keep aside for atleast 30 mins. 
  3. Add some water and cook it in a medium flame for 30 mins – 40 mins. ( Cook beef masala atleast 80%)

b.    Prepration of rice.
Boil 5 cups of water in a deep pan. Add whole spices, turmeric powder, pineapple pieces, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, bay leaves and enough amound of salt. Allow it to boil. Then transfer washed rice to it. Mix well and allow it to cook in a medium flame for 30 mins. ( half cooked)
c. Dum Procedure:
Pour some coconut oil to half cooked rice. Transfer cooked beef / mutton masala (80% cooked) over the rice. Stir it well and close the lid. Heat a dosa pan, place our pot over it. Bake it atleast 30 mins. in very low flame. Then, open the lid and mix well. Sprinkle garam masala, coriander leaves and coconut oil over it.
Close the lid and bake it another 15 - 30 mins. Then open the lid and combine well .

now our Yummy erachi choru is is ready to serve.  Serve hot with raita, dates pickle, etc. Enjoy!!!!
